Google Sheets as a Financial System for Business

How can ordinary spreadsheets be transformed into a reliable financial system without duplicated data, formula errors, or endless file versions? And can Google Sheets replace complex ERP solutions for most management accounting tasks?

We held a closed workshop for members of IT Dnipro Community and CFO Club ITDC together with Oleksii Barinov, financial consultant, founder of Livesheets Academy, and co-founder of flowkeeper.

During the session, we discussed Google Sheets as a flexible system for management accounting, budgeting, financial modelling, and analytics. Participants explored the Single Source of Truth principle, working with P&L, Cash Flow, Balance Sheet, and payment calendars, as well as the rules for building clear and reliable calculations.

We also discussed financial process automation, integrations, no-code tools, Google Apps Script, and the role of AI in the work of finance teams.
